Hallie and I came across this great quote: “If you’re feeling down, ask yourself what’s wrong with this moment. Chances are you’re upset about something that happened in the past you you’re anticipating something that might happen in the future. But is there anything wrong in this exact moment? Probably not. So stop worrying. And if there is something wrong with this exact moment, there are 3 things you can do to fix it. You can remove yourself from the situation, you can change it, or you can always accept it.” On today’s bonus episode, we break down this quote, explain what it truly means to “feel down”, and discuss that it’s impossible to live a spiritual life with conditions.

[2:00] What does it truly mean to “feel down”
[4:25] When we talk about fear, it’s normally psychological fear, not true primal need. It’s normally a situation you can remove yourself from, change, or accept. Unless you’re being chased by a bear…
[5:20] Never run from a black bear. Bear spray is successful 90% of the time!
[9:20] Your mind isn’t the end-all-be-all of life. There are 7 billion people in the world. It’s not possible for everyone’s life to go exactly the way they want in every moment.
[11:55] The majority of the time, what we’re worrying about won’t happen. And if it does happen, it’s rarely something you can’t handle. So don’t worry about it!
[14:03] Eckhart Tolle once advised a dying man that he could choose to accept that he is dying and live life to the fullest for the time he has left, or he could choose to fight it and suffer through the rest of his life.
[15:35] You can’t live a spiritual life with conditions.
