Why do people work? Why do people have careers? Why do people do what they do?
For most people, the default answers to these questions revolve around things and accomplishments. But what if we’re showing up to work to fix a deeper problem within ourselves? What if we have careers because we don’t feel whole and complete, and we’re searching for meaning?
This is why it makes so much sense to leverage business as a conduit for personal growth, not as a way conduit for personal gain.
If you want to start making that shift, here are some tactics you can use to start a few ways to start:
After you arrive at work but before you go into the office, take a moment to remind yourself that you aren’t going to work to get something out of it — you’re going to work to serve.
But, once you get into the office, the business of the day can easily distract you from that servant mindset. You need to put some tactics in place to remind bring you back into that mindset throughout the day.
Slowly, the awareness will start to erode at the part of you until you are effortlessly going to work with the mindset to serve.
