I have always been fascinated by how mentors and other people who I have followed over the years spend their days. What exactly do they do to set themselves up for success? So this week, I wanted to share what my day looks like for anyone who is on their own self-leadership journey. I share all the details from what time I wake up to how I structure time for meditation and meetings to the food I eat… yeah, even my favorite seltzers (I’m pretty obsessed). When we set our day up for success, we can bring so much more alignment and clarity to our work. From that place, life and business flow so much more easily.
In this episode, you will learn about:
- A breakdown of my morning, from when I wake up to when my head hits the pillow.
- Why setting an intention and clearing emotions is so important to do at the beginning of the day so it sets you on a good path for the rest of the afternoon.
- What I eat and drink to help me stay energized
- How I fit in time for family and taking care of myself during a very packed workday.

[3:09] Here is a look at a typical day in Adam’s life. Of course, things may change and shift, but this is a general outline:
- 4:30 am – Wake up without playing the snooze button game on the alarm clock.
- Drink some water, and go outside to breathe in some fresh air and stargaze. [6:02]
- Meditation and sitting with emotions. When we get in touch with our emotions and let them come up, we won’t be reacting to them the whole day. [10:02]
- 5:10 am – Journaling — gratitude and affirmations, along with journaling about family, business, spirituality, etc. [13:37]
- 6:00 am – Hit the bike and future self emails. [18:11]
- 7:00 am – Exercise including running, hiking, followed by a quick shower, and some family time. Breakfast is Ezekial Bread toasted with natural peanut butter plus a cup of black coffee.
- 8:30 am – Arrive at the office and prepare for meetings starting around 9-11:30. [25:02]
- 11:30 – 1 pm – Break where Adam catches up on emails, meditates again (with his feet up!), and eats something healthy and plant-based, with a lot of water or seltzer water.
- 1-4 pm – Back to back meetings and work, with an afternoon green tea. [32:36]
- 6 pm – Arrive home and check emails from the car before coming into the house so he can be present with the kids when he walks in. Change into even comfier clothes. [33:56]
- 6:30 pm – Dinner with the kids and then getting everyone ready for bed by 7:30 pm. Bedtime is a great way to connect with your kids (if they will let you) by being present with them and really being there while they share their feelings.
- 9:00 pm – Get ready for sleep, and prepare for the big day ahead!
