#027 – How to Attract Talented People to Your Business

EPISODE #027

Talented people are what make a business grow, but how do you find talented people? This is the question that so many organizations struggle with, and leaders often think the answer is to pour more money into hiring: take out ads, hire a recruiter, etc. Sure, these things can help, but if you’re not getting the right people in your world, spending more money isn’t going to be the answer.

Like every business challenge, you want to look inward first. As a leader, are you operating at a level that inspires people and gets them excited to be part of your organization? Do you wake up every day with the intention to be a better human being than the day before? If so, people – including people looking to get into your world – will notice this. When hiring, have you done your due diligence to make sure the person you are hiring is actually talent and not just a great interviewer? If not, you need a system that identifies the best one or two people for the role, and then you need to test your assumptions before hiring to make sure you’re right.

Today, Hallie and I explore the topic of finding talent, and since Hallie is the one who oversees hiring in our organization, she uses several strategies from the start of the process to make sure we’re getting the right people on our team. In this week’s episode, we share our systems and strategies with you.
