[3:30] The reason why people struggle with purpose is that our self-image is never constant and always moving. When we try to hold on to our self-image and grasp the next thing, we can suffer or feel dissatisfied.
[4:38] Our purpose is less about our job title or a specific role at a specific organization, it’s more about how we show up in the world and the work we do on ourselves.
[8:18] The only way to align with life is to get out of the self-image. When you get out of the confines of holding up your self-image, life will guide you.
[17:17] When someone attacks our self-image, it feels personal because we’ve created a collage of little images that we feel make up who we are and make sense of the stories we tell ourselves. It’s less about a purpose and more about alignment with life.
[25:48] We are in a dance with life, and she’s always in the lead. When we get out of the way of holding tightly to who we think we should be and surrender, we can really begin to live in our purpose
