[1:10] Most businesses do annual meetings, retreats, or advances, and we’re here to help you figure out how to do this virtually.

[2:35] Don’t cancel your event! Fall is a great time for your event because it sets up a productive momentum and rhythm for the beginning of the year.

[4:30] Start with casting your vision by sharing where you see your business in 10–20 years. You can also include more short term goals, such as growth and leadership opportunities for the company, exciting projects, and upcoming events for the business.

[5:49] Recap what you’ve done for the year, and then continue on to how you are going to end the year and what’s on the horizon for 2021 and beyond. Casting the vision is really getting clear on where you are going and shows your passion in an authentic way.

[11:10] Create connections and reinforce the culture of your company and your team. It may be hard to do virtually, but there are great ways for people to connect, such as sidebar conversations, employee recognition, fun videos.

[16:37] Set aside time for focus planning for individuals and teams both during the advance and the week after. You are 42% more likely to achieve your goals if you write them down.

[18:40] Get purposeful with personal growth. This can encompass a variety of things, such as having guest speakers, doing guided meditation, or kicking off the morning with a walk or run.

[22:00] Incorporate tactical training that your team can implement into their life or business. It takes work to lay out and plan a proper schedule, but it’s worth it so life and your time don’t pass you by.

[26:25] Be sure to break down all the information you’re incorporating in your team meetings. You don’t want to overwhelm yourself or your team.
