#067 – Listener Question – “How Do I Cast the Vision?” Part 2

Spiritual growth or personal growth is not easy or for the faint of heart; even Oprah – with the best spiritual teachers in the world at her fingertips – says it’s not easy. However, if you want live in alignment with your purpose, doing the inner work and getting clear on your vision are crucial. In this second episode of our two-part series on casting the vision, Hallie and I talk about learning to operate in a way driven by your purpose instead of your ego (especially since operating from ego is where most of us start). Here’s how to break that pattern and start creating a vision for your life and business that’s in alignment with who you really are.

In this episode, you will learn about:

  • Why our ego is in opposition from our natural self, and what to do about it.
  • What happens when you surrender to, rather than fight, your ego.
  • How the external world reflects what is going on in our internal world.

[3:54] “Waking up” is waking up to realize that you are more than your ego. When you are creating your vision, we must be aware of that voice.

[5:03] The superego will walk people away from their highest calling and nature because it needs to be in conflict.

[7:35] When we don’t fight the ego but surrender to it, we are seeded in the “seed of self”. This is where the ego exists and you may hear it rumbling, but it will be soft.

[11:38] You do have free will because you have the ability to either listen to your superego or choose to recognize it for what it is and move on. The more you get in touch with your flow and true nature, the more that decision will be instinctual.

[18:34] If you are living from what your mind tells you to do, it’s not really your purpose or nature.

[20:51] As you block your time for reflection and self-growth, exploring your real nature will help you separate beyond your superego.

[23:57] Your true vision doesn’t have to look a certain way or fit into anyone’s mold.

[25:45] Annual goals are great, but we believe in working on quarter goals that you break into 30-day goals and measure them on a weekly basis.

[29:16] We discuss how Best Buy is an example of a company that pivoted to the times and got innovative, rather than getting overrun by their competitor.

[33:09] Models are great for reaching goals, but you are the model and the vision.

[34:36] The more you go inward, the faster you go outward. It may not be exactly what you expected, but easier because you are in alignment with your true nature.
