Feeling like you are always in a time crunch and constantly racing against the clock? You aren’t alone. Time is a man-made tool derived to help organize our lives and create structure, but it’s common to feel that there’s not enough of it, especially for the important things.
This week, we focus on becoming clear in your intentions for how you want to spend your time, so you can get strategic and become the CEO of your own life. We talk about zero time, a space where everything flows and you forget about deadlines and time constraints (an idea discussed in this episode from Soundstrue), and give an easy exercise you can do daily to get there. Whether it’s Hallie picking up the puppies of her dreams or really getting clear on how you can focus on your health, we can use small successes to show that what we want is possible.

[3:54] The only way to change something in your life is to be in the moment that’s actually happening while working on it. People are in conflict because they are not honest with themselves on how they really want to spend their time.
[6:46] You shouldn’t be going to work to derive a sense of yourself. But, you can go out there and be active in the world in a way that leaves you feeling of service and purposeful.
[10:16] We explain the concept of “zero time” and flow state and give a 30-second exercise you can do during very busy times to get you back into zero time and open to ask the bigger questions. When we get clear on how we want to spend our time, it allows us to create space.
[12:00] Much like an ER triaging a patient, you have to triage your own life to create a tailwind of spending time doing what’s most important to you.
[13:04] You can start by getting up 15 minutes early and just journaling for a few minutes. During the practice, ask yourself what your intention is for that day.
[19:33] If people really want something, they’re going to find a way to do it. If you are not making time for something, such as health or dating, ask yourself, what part of you is blocking it out? Fear of failure? Fear of being hurt, or maybe being successful?
[27:05] Looking back on small successes can help us gain confidence and see that it is possible to be intentional about going after what we want.
[28:52] For example, if you want to feel enthused and great, there are two big things to do: take care of the physical body, and be okay with whatever happens in life. When we are not okay with what’s happening in life, we suffer.
[32:09] Time is man-made and constructed for the organization of events, and we listen to the voice that tells us there is never any time. The more you override that voice, the more life starts to support your choices.
[35:08] The clearer you are, the more strategic you can become in making the best decisions possible, and that is when you become the CEO of your own life.
